Hello everyone! I am very excited to share with you a program I am partnering in to make cards for the men and women in our armed forces. I have worked with my friend Cheryl on and off over the years in making cards and packaging items for our service people. I want to bump up my level of service to them. I approached the owner of my local Kidd Coffee, Brian Converse, with the idea of his customers making a card while they are in getting their coffee. The card will be sent over with the intent of the service men and women then being able to send the cards back home to their friends, families and loved ones. We will be focusing on Christmas cards but will also have birthday, friendship, thank you and thinking of you cards. Brian has agreed to set up tables in the corner of his coffee shop and to invite the community to share in this event. We will be working with an organization called The Thank You Foundation. This organization is supported by the local Red Cross. Nancy Arnold, a board member and volunteer for the foundation was honored last Monday by President Bush. He met Nancy on the tarmac of the Cincinnati Airport and awarded her with a beautiful service award pin. It was such a thrill for her! http://www.thethankyoufoundation.org/ Click this link to see Nancy receive her pin and to learn more about this wonderful foundation.
I would like to invite you to stop in at Kidd Coffee on Saturday, November 8th anytime between 8:00a.m. to 1:00 p.m. to make a card! Kidd Coffee makes an awesome brew...have a coffee too! Thank you!

Cindy,
What a great and worthwhile project to do -- wish I was there to take part in it with you!! Good luck on this great venture - and enjoy a latte while you are at it!! :)
