There are two great specials for the month of June!!

Swap Card

Good evening! I am attending a local Stampin' Up! group meeting with 45 demonstrators from within my group tomorrow. I'm very excited to see these ladies. This is a chance for us to learn new techniques, share ideas, trade projects and CARDS!

Here is the swap card I have created for this event.  This is the recipe: So Much and Paisley Background Stamp Sets, River Rock and Black Card Stock, River Rock, Basic Black Classic Ink, Basic Black and White Craft Ink, Clear Detail Embossing Powder, Heat Tool, Coluzzle Cutting System, 1/2" Circle Hole Punch, Dimensionals, Snail Adhesive and Snips Paper Scissors. This is a very easy card to make, just a little extra time involved with the embossing powder. I would not skip this technique...it adds a lot to the dimension of the card. I hope you enjoy it and even give this card a try!

My First Scrap Page Post!

 Good evening everyone! Sorry to not have posted earlier today. It has been extremely stormy here today in Cincinnati. Up until an hour ago, we have had tornado warnings in the area! They even evacuated the Cincinnati airport this afternoon. I'd like to know where they had everyone go! The important thing is that they are all safe. Now...onto the reason you are here! Scrap booking and stamping. I discovered in my class tonight that I do not have to watermark items if I don't want to...so, until I learn how to do that, I will go ahead and post a page. This is a wonderful sample to start off with. In this one page, you can see how you are able to take a simple 6x6 design and take it to either an 8-1/2x11 or a 12x12 design. This way, it will fit into any size scrap book you are working on. For this page layout, I used Certain Celery 12x12 CS, Tempting Turquoise 8-1/2x11, CC for the 6x6 with a small piece of Petals & Paisleys DSP (now retired). The stamp set used is Polka Dots & Paisley (pg. 86 of the current SU Idea Book and Catalog). Other card stocks used for layering are Pretty In Pink, Barely Banana and Bashful Blue. This layout lends itself to the option of having another photo. I chose to add some journaling about the day. The colors I chose to use compliment and bring out the colors that are prominent in the photos. A little bit of white grosgrain ribbon adds some additional depth.

Stamp Room

Happy Monday! I hope you are having a wonderful day. I started my day with a wonderful hike with my hubby! There is a fantastic nature center not too far from us. We love to hike around out there. We saw a young doe on one of the trails this morning. The grass on the trail we were on had just been mowed so the aroma was heavenly! Lots of flowering berry bushes, wisteria and the like. Of course, we forgot the camera on the kitchen table so I don't have pictures to share. Sorry! I do however have pictures of my stamp room. Do you recognize the colors? They are all from Stampin' Up's color palette. MDH created this room for me! Wasn't that fantastic of him! He really had a great time doing it too...really! The white cabinets shown here are antique refrigerator cupboards from a shop I used to work in. I have a lot of storage space in the closet. Here I have displayed my punches using the towel rack holders from "Ikea" as seen in the Stampin' Success catalog. Love those...great price too! The dresser (painted Almost Amethyst) was my grandmothers and had been in bad shape. It works wonderfully in the room as storage for scrap booking supplies and stamping accessories. The top holds my stamp pad spinner. One of our demonstrators husband makes and sells these. So convenient to have it all on one piece. Under the window all of my card stocks fit perfectly in hanging files (8-1/2 x 11) and horizontal files (12 x 12). There are drawers under the hanging files for envelopes. That is it! Learning To Blog!

I have been continuing to learn about updating and editing my blog. I hope to have card, project and scrap book pages loaded soon. I'm learning how to watermark my photos so I can load them. This requires an image with my name and the SU logo to be printed "over" the photo. This will prohibit the photo from being pirated. I met with Pat (my blog class buddy!) today and we learned how to map over our domain names to our blog...a big step!
Tomorrow I will post pictures of my stamp room. Then, you will be able to see where I create and work my business from! I'm anxious to show you.
I hope you were able to get out and enjoy the glorious day today wherever you may be. I got out early and worked in my garden. It was sunny and gorgeous in Ohio today. Here are photos of a few of my  favorite spring flowers. Enjoy and Happy Stamping!
